Beyu Live at Hayti

The “Beyu Live at Hayti” summer concert will add to the quality performing and visual arts programs offered at the Hayti Heritage Center, recognized as a cultural destination and recently voted “Best Of” as a venue for live music by Durham Magazine. The Beyu Caffe – Hayti Heritage Center partnership helps reconnect Hayti and the heart of Durham through music. The partnership also continues Beyu’s commitment to support artists whose followers in Durham and beyond continue to grow, further elevating the City’s popularity as a cultural arts and entertainment haven.  

 

The Chip Shearin concert is scheduled for Friday, June 21, 2019

 

ONE show, two SETS at 7:30 and 8:40 PM – Doors open at 6:00 PM

 

Tickets are $25.00 per person. The price includes a Community Reception with beverage and light food provided by Beyu Caffe. Cash bar will also be available.

 

About Chip Shearin:

Chip is highly recognized as a first rate producer, on top of being the low end pulse for jazz greats Donald Byrd, Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Marion Meadows, Alex Bugnon, Bob Baldwin, Cheilli Minucci, Warren Hill, Paul Taylor, Norman Brown, Kirk Whalum and many others; soul icons Aretha Franklin, Staple Singers, Temptations, Gladys Knight, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes; rap creators Sugar Hill Gang, The Sequence, Grandmaster Flash, Tupac and Master P; and current pop stars Janet Jackson, Polina, Christina Aguilera, Ceelo, Will Downing.

 

As a producer for commercial music, Chip Shearin’s compositions and bass playing can be heard on ads for Ford, General Motors, Carnival Cruise Lines, BMW, Radio Shack, JC Penney and Mac Cosmetics just to name a small few. Also, television shows for ABC, CBS, HBO and Fox networks. Also, scoring scenes for Daddy Day Camp, Blade Trilogy, Bad Boys, Iron Man 3, The Day After Tomorrow, Sky Captain, Young Guns and Shattered.

 

Chip, a native of North Carolina, lives bi-coastally in Los Angeles and Raleigh. He studied Music and Business at Duke University and North Carolina Central University. He studied composition and arranging at Manhattan School of Music. Chip entered law school but found it a poor fit for his interests!
