Dimensions of Black: A Celebration of the Arts
The Triangle Friends of African American Arts (Triangle FAAA) is presenting Dimensions of Black: A Celebration of the Arts at the Hayti Heritage Center on June 16, 2018 at 8 pm. The evening will feature the talents of African American artists in theater, music, dance and visual arts. Admission is $20.
Several theater companies will perform previews of upcoming plays. This includes: Agape Theatre Project, Mojoaa Performing Arts, Ira Knight Presents and North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre. There will also be a special performance by stars of the popular play, Pooled.
Additional performers will include Broadway star Clare Bathé, soulful singer/cellist Shana Tucker and renowned dancer Gaspard Louis.
There will be a pre-show event at 7:15 pm. Attendees can view wonderful works of art and meet the artists who created them. Pieces will be available for acquisition. Among the featured artists will be William Paul Thomas who recently had a solo exhibition at the Durham Arts Council. Following the event, there will be a VIP reception for the performers and Triangle FAAA members.

Started in 2014, the Triangle Friends of African American Arts is an organization that strives to expand awareness, understanding and support of African American arts and artists. It promotes African American performances, art exhibitions and cultural events, organizes group attendance at performances and hosts special events that feature artists of African descent.
