Giving Tuesday
The Chuck Davis Dance Emporium is named in honor of our beloved Chuck Davis, founder of the African American Dance Ensemble and celebrated dancer, choreographer, and community elder whose rich legacy impacts generations. In celebration of Baba Chuck, an endowment for the Chuck Davis Dance Emporium was established to continue his love for community and African dance at The Hayti Heritage Center. Funds raised are designated specifically to match the GlaxoSmithKline Endowment for the Emporium, and for dance programming at Hayti.
The dance studio needs major upgrades to support new and current classes and future dance programming. The goal for the current year is to raise $5,000 in matching funds for the installation of a new Chuck Davis Dance Emporium floor.
For as little as $25.00, you can help us reach our goal. Join us on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd to become a monthly sustainer or support our matching fund on Facebook. Facebook is matching up to $100,000 per organization. Check donations should be made to St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation and are tax-deductible.
